As the visitor economy follows the roadmap out of Covid, business recovery is the focus of everyone’s attention. As part of recovery planning you may wish to find more out about how you can include energy efficiency as a way to reduce ongoing bills.

The Business Energy Efficiency Project (BEEP) at Durham County Council provides fully funded (free to the business) on site energy audits of premises and a written report outlining the steps recommended to cut energy usage. These can range from behavioural change through to suggestions to replace existing equipment with more energy efficient models which, while needing a capital investment, will payback with savings over time. BEEP also have a small grant pot where a percentage of the cost of works carried out can be provided in the form of a grant.

Visit County Durham have teamed up with the BEEP Team to provide an Energy Efficiency in Recovery Webinar which is taking place from 11am – 12 noon on Tuesday 23rd March 2021. The webinar will look at energy efficiency during the recovery period, the BEEP site energy audit and highlight funding that is available for electric vehicle charging points. There will also be some case studies as well as the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

The event will be hosted on Microsoft Teams and you will be sent the link once you have confirmed you would like to attend. If you are interested in finding out more or to register to join the webinar please email lucy.wearne@visitcountydurham.org.
